Welcome to Active Explorers Airport! We provide quality childcare and early education for infants, toddlers, and young learners. Our focus is on creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can explore, grow, and develop essential skills.

Meet our Centre Manager

Kia ora

Tōku ingoa ko Ramona Tala‘epa.I am a proud Samoan person who migrated to New Zealand at the age of seven and has grown up in the heart of South Auckland all my life. My cultural grounding, community values, and lived experience have shaped the leader I am today.

I bring more than ten plus years of experience working alongside children and supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing. My passion for early childhood education is reflected in the relationships I build, the environments I create, and the commitment I have to high quality practice.

I am a family centred and community driven person who thrives in diverse settings and enjoys working collaboratively with whānau, staff, and wider community networks. Through my multicultural background, I am able to speak five languages: fluent Samoan, strong English, Tuvaluan through my husband and his aiga, basic Tongan, and Te Reo Māori, which has become one of my proudest achievements through learning waiata and everyday phrases.

I enjoy teaching children different languages and supporting them to understand identity, belonging, and cultural pride. As a leader, I bring warmth, clarity, and confidence. I enjoy guiding new people, sharing my strengths, and building strong, supportive teams. My goal is always to uplift others, maintain high standards, and create a centre environment where tamariki, kaiako, and whānau feel valued and empowered.

At Active Explorers Airport, we specialize in a family-centered approach, fostering a strong connection with our community to ensure each child feels supported and valued. Our learning environment promotes cultural diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing, allowing children to thrive in a space that’s both enriching and safe.

Our centre features spacious indoor and outdoor areas designed to encourage exploration, with slides, obstacle courses, sandpits, and designated running zones. The combination of structured activities and free play enables children to engage in hands-on learning experiences.

Children are grouped by age in rooms that cater to their specific developmental needs. From nurturing our youngest learners in Little Kiwis to preparing our older children for school in Rising 5, our structured yet flexible approach ensures children’s growth every step of the way.

Little Kiwi

This room offers a calm and secure environment where infants and toddlers can explore their surroundings safely. With age-appropriate toys and activities, Little Kiwis encourages sensory development and early social skills.

Super Einsteins

Super Einsteins encourages curious minds through exploration and play. The room is filled with open-ended resources that spark creativity, helping toddlers develop early problem-solving, social, and communication skills.

Rising 5

Rising 5 prepares children for school with activities focused on literacy, numeracy, and independence. Children engage in fun, hands-on learning experiences that build confidence and readiness for the next step in their educational journey.

Whānau Room

The Whānau Room is designed for a mixed age group, providing an inclusive space where older children can mentor younger ones. Activities are tailored to foster collaboration, creativity, and emotional growth.
