Room on the Broom is one of the children's most loved books at Lollipops Albany, and today the story magically came to life for the centre's Tui Room children.

A visit to The Bruce Mason Centre to see the theatre version of the story was a huge success, providing a myriad of learning opportunities, not just at the performance itself, but out in the local community.

"The children were super excited as they'd been waiting for this day for so long," said Lollipops Albany centre manager Tracy Bedford.

"Not only is Room on the Broom one of their favourite books, but we've been learning a lot about the different arts, so this provided a great opportunity to actually see a theatre performance. Our tamariki found the show very engaging, and also enjoyed the bus ride and exploring our community, even on such a wet and windy day."
