Matariki Hangi Family Evening

Lollipops Albany hosted a hangi for families on Friday evening to celebrate Maori New Year, Matariki.
Tamariki and kaiako spent the day leading up to the event whipping up a storm in the kitchen, preparing vegetables for the hangi and making Maori bread to share with whanau.
Centre Manager Tracy Bedford said the shared kai was a wonderful way to bring the centre community together.
"We had a lovely celebration, and the concert the children put on for their parents was a real highlight."
