Celebrating different cultures is a great way to build compassion and understanding, and at Lollipops Britomart embracing cultural diversity is an integral facet of centre life.

This week staff and children have been celebrating Diwali, the Festival of Lights - an event popular with Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and Buddhists all over the world.

“We celebrate Diwali to wish for happiness and prosperity for all,” says centre manager Supriya Sharma.

“We all came dressed up in our favourite cultural outfits and the children have been busy decorating the diyas (lamps)  and brightening up with rooms with fantastic Indian artwork.”

Dancing to Indian music and devouring some delicious Indian food were also highlights.
