Meet our Centre Manager

Kia ora

My name is Donna. I’m a mother of four and a proud grandmother, with 27 years in early childhood education, beginning at Playcentre and joining Evolve in 2019. Now Centre Manager at Lollipops Waikato Hospital, I’m passionate about seeing happy, engaged children grow through play.

I value the strong relationships formed between children, peers, and teachers, and love watching them build confidence and resilience. To me, the most important aspect of a centre is how the team connects with each other and with children. Nurturing, respectful interactions foster belonging, wellbeing, and a love of learning, laying the foundation for children to become lifelong learners.

At Lollipops Waikato Hospital, we’re passionate about creating an environment where children feel valued and inspired to learn. Our multicultural approach celebrates diversity and ensures every child’s individual needs are met, while our location near Waikato Hospital gives us a unique opportunity to connect children with the wider community.

Our centre features spacious indoor and outdoor areas designed to spark creativity and curiosity. From cosy reading corners to a large outdoor playground, our resources are tailored to engage children in a wide range of activities that support their growth and development.

With a focus on learning through play, our centre offers a variety of activities, from our Pathways to School Program for 4-year-olds to regular cultural celebrations that enrich the children’s experiences.

Our centre is designed with your child’s development in mind, offering a variety of spaces where they can learn, play, and explore. Whether indoors or out, each area is thoughtfully arranged to support different age groups and learning experiences.

Under 2 years

Kowhaiwhai Room

The Kowhaiwhai Room is a calm, sensory-rich space where our youngest learners can explore. With soft play areas, beanbags, and open-ended resources, children are encouraged to explore their surroundings. Outdoors, they enjoy their own deck with fun resources like trucks and foam shapes for climbing, helping them develop their motor skills.

Over 2 years

Koru Room

The Koru Room is a lively and engaging space for toddlers and young children. Here, they can get creative with dress-up, role-playing as doctors and nurses, or dive into building projects with construction toys. The outdoor area is perfect for big adventures, from sliding down the slope to playing in the sandpit and water areas.
