Meet our Centre Manager

Kiaora

My name is Shannon. I became an early childhood teacher to support young children on a lifelong learning journey in a nurturing, fun, and imaginative environment. I’ve worked in the sector for eleven years and love building strong relationships with tamariki and whanau, making a positive difference in their lives.

Watching children grow, learn, and inspiring our kaiako is incredibly rewarding. Lollipops Tauranga stands out for its cultural diversity, passionate teaching team, and spacious, purpose-built learning environments. My favourite times are celebrations with tamariki and whanau, whether cultural events, birthdays, or special occasions. I have a Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education.

About Lollipops Tauranga

At Lollipops Tauranga, we emphasise creating a supportive and respectful environment that nurtures children’s independence, self-help skills, and curiosity. Our multicultural centre is built to provide space for children to learn at their own pace, with teachers facilitating their growth through engaging learning experiences.
Our purpose-built centre features a spacious outdoor area and a natural outlook, providing plenty of room for children to explore. We’re conveniently located near local cafés and across from Te Kura O Manaui, making it a great spot for families.
Throughout the day, children are encouraged to participate in various learning experiences tailored to their age group. From quiet learning moments to adventurous outdoor play, each child’s unique learning journey is supported by our caring team.

Our Rooms

At Lollipops Tauranga, we offer a spacious and inviting environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. Our outdoor areas provide plenty of room for active play, while our thoughtfully designed indoor spaces ensure comfort and stimulation for all age groups.

0 - 1.5 years

Pōhutukawa

The Pōhutukawa room is a nurturing space where infants and young toddlers engage in sensory learning experiences to stimulate their senses and promote early development. With soft furnishings and age-appropriate resources, it’s the perfect environment for infants to explore and form early connections.

1.5 - 2.5 years

Kōwhai

In the Kōwhai room, toddlers begin to develop social and motor skills through guided learning experiences and play. The room is designed to foster curiosity, with interactive resources and spaces for both independent and group play, helping children grow in confidence and communication.

2.5 - 3.5 years

Kauri

The Kauri room supports preschoolers as they develop more advanced cognitive and social skills. With structured learning experiences and opportunities for creative play, children here are encouraged to make choices, solve problems, and engage with peers in cooperative learning.

3.5 - 6 years

Rimu

In the Rimu room, children prepare for school with more focused learning experiences. These are designed around children's interests to weave in literacy, numeracy, and social skills, while still allowing for plenty of outdoor play and exploration. Teachers guide children in self-directed learning and independent thinking.
