Kiaora

My journey in early childhood began at 17 as a live-in nanny in Canada. Inspired by passionate educators upon returning to Dunedin, I pursued formal training and graduated in 1994. Since then, I’ve held roles including homebased educator, visiting teacher, head teacher, and centre manager at Montessori at the Gardens for nine years.

What I love most is seeing tamariki thrive in a respectful, engaging environment. I’m grateful to work alongside a committed team, continuously growing to provide the best for our children. Teaching is a gift—each day brings new joy, laughter, and opportunities to inspire young minds.

At Little Wonders Roslyn, we’re all about creating a whānau-centred environment where tamariki are encouraged to explore, learn, and build meaningful connections. We blend local knowledge, culture, and values into our programmes, helping tamariki and their whanau feel truly connected to the community.

Our purpose-built centre offers bright, light-filled spaces, both indoors and outdoors, designed to inspire curiosity and independence. With age-appropriate environments and carefully considered setups, we ensure that every child’s individual needs are met with warmth and care.

Life at Little Wonders is filled with play-based learning, exciting excursions, and cultural celebrations. We provide a variety of engaging learning experiences for all age groups, from early literacy and numeracy to outdoor adventures in nature. Tamariki enjoy everything from arts and crafts to music and movement, always with a focus on fun and growth.

Our Rooms

At Little Wonders Roslyn, our spaces are designed to inspire learning, exploration, and fun. Both indoors and out, the environment is warm, welcoming, and filled with opportunities for tamariki to explore, create, and grow. Every corner is thoughtfully set up to encourage curiosity, imagination, and social development.

0 - 1 years

Rātā

Rātā is a calm and secure space filled with natural light, where tamariki can feel safe and supported. Our Kaiako are always nearby, observing and responding to each child’s cues to ensure they feel nurtured and valued as they start their learning journey.

1 - 2 years

Tōtara

Tōtara is an exciting, active space for our littlest learners. With easy access to both indoor and outdoor areas, tamariki here are encouraged to move freely, explore, and express themselves. Music and movement are favourites in this room, creating a fun and energetic atmosphere.

2 - 3 years

Mānuka

Mānuka is a bright, open space that supports tamariki in gaining independence and exploring new skills. Whether they’re playing in the sandpit, riding balance bikes, or getting creative with arts and crafts, tamariki in this room enjoy a range of learning experiences that encourage self-expression and problem-solving.

3–5 years

Kōwhai & Rimu Room

Kōwhai is all about exploration and learning through play. Tamariki in this room are encouraged to follow their interests and develop new skills through hands-on learning experiences. The space is set up to support their curiosity and creativity, with plenty of opportunities for independent and collaborative learning.

Rimu is designed to foster peer learning, with tamariki often supporting one another through shared learning experiences. The room is full of opportunities for children to explore their world, express themselves, and develop communication skills in a fun and supportive environment.
