Kia ora

My name is Toni! I am a qualified and registered educator with over 30 years involvement in Education and Social Services, having spent a number of those years in Leadership roles.

I am committed to exploring diverse cultures, enriching relationships, and fostering a culture of equity ensuring that every child has the right to participate, have a sense of belonging, and are valued for who they are and what they bring to the centre.

At Little Wonders Aoraki, we focus on fostering a sense of community, inclusivity, and cultural connection that helps children thrive. Our developmentally focused curriculum supports each child’s unique learning journey while embracing the rich history and culture of Timaru.

Our centre is purpose-built with spacious indoor and outdoor areas that allow for creative exploration, active play, and safe learning. Each room is thoughtfully designed to meet the developmental needs of children at every stage.

We offer age-appropriate learning experiences that cater to a variety of interests and developmental stages. Our under-2 rooms feature flexible indoor spaces, while our over-2 rooms provide diverse learning experiences. Children enjoy plenty of outdoor time to engage with nature and explore their world.

Our Spaces

Little Wonders Aoraki offers expansive indoor and outdoor spaces where children can freely explore, create, and interact. Our learning spaces are designed to encourage learning through play, providing a safe and stimulating environment for all ages.

0 - 1 year

Tūī

This cosy room is designed for infants, offering sensory-rich activities and a calm, nurturing environment. The Tui room encourages secure attachments and developmental milestones through gentle routines and hands-on experiences.

1 - 2 years

Kiwi

In the Kiwi room, toddlers enjoy exploring their world through play and interaction. With plenty of space for movement and discovery, the learning experiences are focused on developing social skills and building confidence as children begin to communicate and explore independently.

2 - 3 years

Kākāpō

The Kākāpō room offers a balance of guided learning and independent play. Toddlers in this room engage in creative learning experiences that promote fine and gross motor skills, language development, and social interaction, fostering curiosity and exploration.

3 - 4 years

Kea

As children in the Kea room approach school age, they enjoy a variety of structured and open-ended learning experiences that enhance their cognitive and social skills. The Kea room focuses on preparing children for the next stage in their educational journey.

4–5 years

Pūkeko Room

The Pūkeko room supports children as they approach the transition to school. With a focus on early literacy, numeracy, and social skills, children engage in collaborative learning, building their independence and readiness for school life.
