My name is Indiana and I am proud to be the Centre Manager of Active Explorers Helensville. I have been in Early Childhood Education for 10 years, and over that time my passion been about embracing culture and identity as well as nurturing creativity through arts, music, and movement.

As a proud Pasifika woman, I value most being present for our community, supporting our families and ensuring that everything we do is for the wellbeing of tamariki. Like the saying goes "it takes a village to raise a child"- and I truly believe our centre is that village where every child is celebrated, supported, and encouraged to thrive.

At Active Explorers Helensville, our nature-based approach to learning encourages tamariki to thrive through meaningful, hands-on experiences that support their growth and curiosity.

We cater to a wide range of age groups, from infants through to preschoolers, with tailored programmes designed to meet the unique needs of each developmental stage. Our flexible scheduling options help support busy families, while ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and empowered on their learning journey.

Our well-resourced indoor spaces are complemented by a stunning outdoor environment, with expansive play areas overlooking the beautiful Kaipara River. Children have plenty of space to run, jump, explore, and soak up the sun!

We’ve recently upgraded our bike track and outdoor playground, and we’re so excited for tamariki to enjoy these spaces!

Our Rooms

Active Explorers Helensville provides spacious, well-equipped learning environments and outdoor areas that foster curiosity and exploration. With beautiful views of the river and a focus on sustainability, the environment is designed to support learning through play and creativity.

0-2 years

Nursery

Our Nursery is a cosy, calm space designed to support the early stages of development. Infants explore sensory play, soft toys, and interactive activities that encourage motor skills and socialisation. The environment is safe, welcoming, and designed for comfort as little ones begin their journey of discovery.

2-3 years

Young Tamariki

The Young Tamariki room is vibrant and full of opportunities for toddlers to explore, create, and communicate. Activities here are designed to encourage language development, fine motor skills, and social interaction through guided play and hands-on learning experiences.

3-5 years

Preschool

In the Preschool room, children engage in more structured learning experiences, including arts and crafts, early literacy, and problem-solving activities. With a strong focus on creativity and independence, this room is designed to prepare tamariki for the transition to primary school while fostering curiosity and confidence.

Come join in on the fun!

Every Friday at 10am, we open our doors to the community to provide a space for little ones and their families to come have fun, get creative and connect with our children through the power of art. We call it - The Craft Club. Everyone is welcome, we can't wait for you to join us.
