Language, Culture and Identity
Each of our centres weaves a local curriculum based on Te Whāriki, the New Zealand early childhood curriculum.
Our curriculum reflects the unique place of Māori and enables your child to develop an understanding of the cultural heritages of both parties to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, as well as celebrating the diverse cultures that make up this land.
We ensure that your child experiences Māori language and culture and connect to the history of the local area and the tikanga.
Your child will have a sense of belonging in the centre because the centre will reflect your cultural values and practices. Your voice is heard and listened to. When deciding which areas to focus on, we consider the aspirations that you have for your child’s learning.
